The Central Reformed Church sought to update an existing courtyard and requested design assistance from RJM Design. Completing a formal "English Garden" planting plan, along with direction for courtyard repairs, irrigation design, and existing sculpture relocation, RJM Design created an inviting space that can be used all year round. Plants such as paperbark maple, boxwood, hydrangea, and astilbe provide four season appeal without high maintenance demands. An existing sculpture bench was moved from the columbarium into the symmetrical bench layout within the courtyard and existing scripture plaques were also incorporated into the symmetrical design.
