RJM Design prepared the new master plan for Allendale Township's existing 37 acre park. RJM Design also assisted the township with obtaining two DNR grants for development of phase one and phase two construction, which included a playground, restroom building, parking areas, veteran's memorial, and a two-acre pond, complete with nature trails, pedestrian footbridges and fishing deck.

Connor Bayou - Ottawa County, Michigan
Working with the Ottawa County Parks Department, RJM designed the masterplan for Connor Bayou Park, a 142 acre riverfront parcel located along the Grand River. The property contains diverse plant communities with rich flora, as well as a rare bayou habitat. The masterplan utilizes low-impact nature trails and observation decks to complement and protect the existing beauty of the natural land features, animal habitats, and vegetation. A higher intensity park and picnic setting is located near the existing log home structure, that serves as a staging area for group activities and possible patron rental. Floating docks are suggested along the Grand River, encouraging users to interact with the water, and allows for multiple transport methods to the park.

Grand Valley State University Athletic Fields - Allendale, Michigan
RJM Design worked with Grand Valley State University to construct several multi-use athletic facilities, including varsity softball, soccer, rugby and tennis. Work included conceptual design, permitting, construction documentation and construction administration. Prior to forming RJM Design, Jim Morgan developed many components of GVSU's current master plan.

As a part of the new Metro Health Village in Wyoming, Granger Village Green serves as a community greenspace for hospital visitors, staff, and retail and restaurant patrons. The inviting space features a large expanse of lawn and outdoor amphitheater for large events and gatherings, as well as quiet, more intimate sitting areas.

The hydrological restoration of the Hersey River will create a unique opportunity for the Village of Hersey to develop approximately 5.5 acres for a village park. RJM Design's master plan includes the restoration of approximately 2 acres to natural grassy meadows, creation of a wooded pond, picnic areas, restroom building, playground, riverside beach and boat landing. Future pedestrian connections are proposed to the existing DA Blodgett Park and Michigan's White Pine Recreational Trail.

This county park's restoration included a natural spring basin, waterfalls, streambed, naturalized plantings, accessible walkways and a garden pergola for outdoor events and weddings. RJM Design assisted with MDEQ permits, as well as developed the conceptual design and construction documents.

Whistlestop Park, Byron Township, Michigan
A unique 60-acre township park, Whistlestop Park boasts many recreation and community amenities, including softball and soccer fields, playground, picnic areas, and a two acre pond with nature trails and fishing piers. RJM Design created the master plan, assisting with a MDNR Grant and provided construction documents and administrative services. Future phases of the master plan include a community center, senior center and a veteran's memorial.
