Working with the Ottawa County Parks Department, RJM designed the masterplan for Connor Bayou Park, a 142 acre riverfront parcel located along the Grand River. The property contains diverse plant communities with rich flora, as well as a rare bayou habitat. The masterplan utilizes low-impact nature trails and observation decks to complement and protect the existing beauty of the natural land features, animal habitats, and vegetation. A higher intensity park and picnic setting is located near the existing log home structure that serves as a staging area for group activities and possible patron rental. Floating docks are built along the Grand River, encouraging users to interact with the water, and allowing for multiple transport methods to the park.
